June 29, 2016: Message from the Pastor

Christmas EvePastor’s Message

Pray for Peace Among All People of the World!

I just read of the shocking attacks, violence, and deaths at the airport in Istanbul. Jesus says, “In the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”

I write to tell you about three opportunities to show love and care and light in response to the darkness that seems prominent in our world. I am reminded of a quote I saw on a poster, “All the darkness in the world cannot overcome the light of one single candle.”

  • Pastor Message

  • Pastor’s Bible Study continues this summer and is open to all.

We are thriving through the summer, Friendly and Thoughtful dialogue on the scriptures for the coming Sunday. This Wednesday we will look at Luke 10:1-11, Galatians 6:1-16, 2 Kings 5:1-14, and Psalm 30. In preparation for our Wednesday evening study and for Sunday’s preaching, my current plan is to use the Naaman story (from II Kings 5) to talk about the human trait of masking fear with pride. And that only God can make us clean.
  • This Sunday is a holiday weekend.
If you are traveling, be safe! If you attend worship somewhere along the way, please bring me a bulletin (Its always good for me to see how other churches and pastors worship!) We will be here, as always! We will have Communion and pray for our Youth who leave the next day. Come to the Table and if you are away from home, find a place to worship along the way!

See you in church!
