From the Pastor

The world is a dangerous place with too much hurt and violence. The world is a beautiful place filled with peace and life. At times we may wonder why this world isn’t filled only with the peace and life God has so generously given. We know that there is evil in some shape or form that takes a heavy toll on this world. If we are honest with ourselves, we also know the destructive force of evil is carried out by people, sometimes even ourselves. Maybe we look to God and question why? Maybe God is looking back and asking us why?

The love of God creates, restores and cares deeply for Creation. But what does that matter? What can God’s love do for us? What is God’s love and what is the Lord doing? As a noun it is the deep passion the Lord holds for creation, including each of us. The love of God is also a verb, creating, and recreating life and all that we know and more! This love of God worked through Jesus and the suffering the world caused him, to open the way of renewing the relationship between humanity and our Creator. It is the same love that teaches us and changes our own heart to be the person we were created to be. That is, children of God in Jesus Christ. The kingdom of heaven or kingdom of God is the active work of God’s Spirit in us and through us. In a world of violence, hate, and greed God is at work in each of us, expecting us to make a difference.

Join us Sunday as we look at what that may look like and what part we are privileged to play.

May the Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
