Rick’s Righting: September 3, 2021

From the Pastor

And then we are challenged. Challenged with being tired, worn out in mind, body, spirit or even all three. Maybe we find ourselves in a financial or business hole that doesn’t seem to have a way out. The old ways, or standard ways don’t work. People we have not considered to be our customers, or partners, offer an opportunity, one that is an out of the box idea, different than what we would expect, and we believe “that’s just not how we do business.” It could be that the person we have always looked at as someone we can help but has nothing to offer us is our way out of the hole. The one we have dug for ourselves. We might find ourselves surprised that we had forgotten a core idea behind our business or marketing plan. Or an important part of how we have chosen to live our lives. We might ask, what does this have to do with Christianity, Christian behavior or thought, or even Jesus himself. Was there ever a time when Jesus appears to have forgotten himself? Let himself get too tired or burned out or in a bind that he acted in a way that just doesn’t reflect his core values? If so, what important life lesson does that teach us?

Join us this Sunday as we gather to worship and consider the wisdom that God is offering us.

May the Peace and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
