The theme for this Advent Season is “Finding Jesus Among Us.” Our church offers so many ways to involve yourself in order to experience Jesus! He is truly among us! Jesus is most often seen in the actions of His people. I have a unique perspective in that I am in our church every day. I see the innocence in the children’s eyes when they run into the church building on a Wednesday afternoon, eager and willing to learn. The smiles of the youth as they gather, laugh, and question the teachings before them. I am blessed to be with an office staff that has excitement in what we do, pride in our work, and a deep love for the people we serve. I get to experience the people of the church at work in ways that others do not see; the commitment of our people is beautiful! Things seen and unseen. Jesus is among us! Look around you at what’s being done, how love is shared, and be involved! Come and let’s experience His presence together this Advent Season!

This week, I felt ‘Jesus Among Us’ during staff prayer time. I felt Him every time I witnessed our ‘Loaves and Fishes’ volunteers sacking groceries. They come in several times during the week. I witnessed Him with each committee meeting that occurred. And in our children’s and youth program just yesterday!

It’s Pantry Express week! Lots of Jesuses out there! (P.S. There is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes prior to Thursday.) Our pastor makes sure a grieving family receives the time they need from him.
Conversations with God had a small group talking about the difficulties of staying focused with God during the stressfulness of the season and of every day! Water to Wine Theology had good discussions about what it means to live a Christian life. Choir practicing for the Cantata. Twenty committed people came together wanting to bring the joy of the season to their church family. Austin adds that he found Jesus amongst those present for the vigil of Athena Strand.

This week I found ‘Jesus among us’ out at the Christmas Tree Lighting! I found ‘Jesus among us’ so many times during the week as people came in and out of the building for one reason or another, all in service to your church. I’m always in awe of the time given. From maintaining the building, particular committee needs, and Food Pantry volunteers who tirelessly fill the bags with groceries!
Jesus IS Among Us!
